Here, the key point is to UNCOMMENT (which means to delete) the # at front of the line, and then, USE \\ double slashes (for the path separator) between folders. This should launch Jupyter Notebook in the browser in the folder with the above address. Then open anaconda prompt again, type jupyter notebook. Now add our target folder address into the ' ' like this: c.NotebookApp.notebook_dir = 'C:\\Users Uncomment it, i.e., delete the "#" in the first column. When editing, look around line 214, for the string that looks like: #c.NotebookApp.notebook_dir = '' Drag the file into a Notepad ++ to edit it. I didn't snapshot my full address because of privacy, but it shows something like: C:\Users\name\.jupyterįind this folder on your C: drive, and in this folder, find the python file jupyter_notebook_config.py. ![]() You don't have to do anything on the prompt anymore. This issue happens when Windows 10 installs Anaconda with Python, Ipython, and Jupyter Notebook.įirst open the Anaconda Prompt and type the following into the prompt: jupyter notebook -generate-config So the answers above helped, but please allow me to make it clear so other people who aren't very familiar with MS-Windows can work it out in the same way: ![]() To c.NotebookApp.notebook_dir = 'c:\test\your_root\'Ĥ) Then, go to the shortcut of Jupyter Notebook located in C:\Users\User_name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Anaconda3 (64-bit)ĥ) Do the right click and go to the PropertiesĦ) In the Target field, remove %USERPROFILE% as stenlytw suggested above.ħ) Then, In the field of Start in, type the same directory of c:\test\your_root\ in jupyter_notebook_config.pyĪs the simpler way, after step 3, go to C:\Users\User_name\Anaconda3\ScriptsĤ-2) You can see the file of jupyter-notebook.exe and click it.ĥ-2) Then, the Jupyter start the folder you specified in jupyter_notebook_config.py. There are two ways to do even though they have only very small difference.įollow the way marneylc suggested above: i.e.ġ) Open "Anaconda Prompt" and type jupyter notebook -generate-configĢ) You find the file in C:\Users\username\.jupyter\jupyter_notebook_config.pyģ) Change the line of #c.NotebookApp.notebook_dir = '' I tested the below in Windows 10 and Anaconda 4.4.0 with python 3.6. After several trials, I realized that they are partially correct and are not the complete solution. I just had the same problem and tested the methods mentioned above. By only using pip to manage Python code environments in Dataiku we reduce the risks of unexpecting other code environments or the server itself.Jupyter Notebook and JupyterLab = 3, Jupyter Notebook Classic, and RetroLabįor recent nbclassic and JupyterLab >= 3 use c.ServerApp.root_dir instead of c.NotebookApp.notebook_dir (and jupyter server -generate-config instead of jupyter notebook -generate-config).įor context see migration guide and this question on differences between server and notebook. ![]() ![]() Therefore we include all required OS level package dependencies as part of your Dataiku build and we make sure we test any new required packages before we allow them into the Dataiku build. Installing an OS level package dependency could have a wide impact on other Python code environments or even the whole system itself. As a Dataiku Administrator I much rather handle any OS level package dependencies from Python packages myself than letting conda do it behind my back as part of a code environment install. We have yet to find a package we could not install via pip in Dataiku. However on servers I would argue that you should stay away from conda. Conda tends to be used on developer machine installs (ie when using the Anaconda distribution) since it's simpler to just let conda handle both Python and OS level packages on developer machines. Out of interest why do you want to have conda working under Dataiku? Both conda and pip do effectively the same thing (aka package managers) with the main difference being that conda can handle OS level dependancies and pip can't.
